Sultan graduated from the Economics Faculty of Kabul University in 2005 and began his career at the Afghanistan Revenue Department (ARD) later that year. Between 2005 and 2014, he served as a Tax Officer and Tax Compliance Manager, where he played a pivotal role in shaping tax procedures and guidelines, conducting over 100 seminars to enhance tax law awareness, administering tax compliance, advising tax officers, and assessing the tax liabilities of medium-sized taxpayers.

In addition to his tenure at ARD, Sultan managed a local tax consultancy firm in Kabul, Afghanistan, from 2008 to 2014, providing advisory and consultancy services to both international and local organizations on Afghanistan’s tax system.

From 2015 to 2019, Sultan worked as a part-time Tax Consultant with Emerging Consulting LLC, assisting clients with bookkeeping and accounting solutions. During this period, he also gained valuable experience working with financial institutions such as Key Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, and PenFed Credit Union.

Since 2020, Sultan has been serving as a Managing Partner at NAS Advisors LLC, a Virginia-based accounting firm that provides tax and accounting services to businesses, organizations, and the community. He further enhanced his professional credentials by obtaining the prestigious Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in June 2023.
