Mr. Hasanyar is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Virginia, USA. He is a development professional with over 15 years of experience in financial management, accounting, government audits, USAID grants compliance and brings a broad depth of knowledge of federal and USAID rules & regulations. Mr. Hasanyar’s experience with international organizations in Afghanistan includes several key positions from 2002 to 2010 including Finance Officer at Checchi and Company Consulting, and Director of Finance at the American University of Afghanistan, both receiving funds from USAID. From 2010 to 2014, he worked as Financial Analyst at USAID/Afghanistan and provided financial management advice and support to a USAID technical team, managed financial audits, financial reviews and risk assessments (pre-award surveys) of USAID projects, and also coordinated with SIGAR and the USAID Office of Inspector General (OIG) on financial audits. From 2014 to 2016, he worked as Senior Audit Consultant with Davis and Associates CPA and conducted several audits for USAID and other federal agencies in the U.S. and Afghanistan. Since 2015, he is the President and CEO of Emerging Consulting Group, where he advises and assists clients with Afghanistan taxation compliance, establishing accounting & bookkeeping system, developing policies and procedures manuals, USAID financial management and reporting, USAID grants and contracts financial compliance, and develops project budgets for USAID funds.

Mr. Hasanyar is also a member of the United Kingdom-based internationally recognized accounting body, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He also holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Oxford Brooks University in England. He is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
